Description
Colorado aspen trees are one of my favorite things to paint. They change color with the seasons and are never the same twice.
Last Dollar Road is a beautiful mesa above Ridgway, Colorado where they filmed parts of the original John Wayne film True Grit. This was my favorite meadow to paint in, but recently they built a house on the property.
This early morning scene painted from a plein air piece that I did really gives us a feeling for what it’s like inside a quite peaceful aspen forest on a sunny winter day.
