Winter Aspens

30 x 15″ Oil on canvas, gallery wrap style with 1.5″ thick side profile. Ready for hanging or can be framed as well.

Colorado aspen trees are one my favorite things to paint. They change color with the seasons and are never the same twice.

Last Dollar Road is a beautiful mesa above Ridgway Colorado where they filmed parts of the original John Wayne film True Grit. This was my favorite meadow to paint in, but recently they built a house on the property.

This early morning scene painted from a plein air piece that I did really gives us a feeling for what it’s like inside a quite peaceful aspen forest on a sunny winter day.
